I know that this time last year I was knee-deep in Draft and post-Draft everything and it even got to the point where I found myself sitting in Radio City Music Hall for close to 8+ hours watching the Patriots every last pick.
<–Represent.
This year though, has been completely different.
What’s been different you may ask? It’s been a number of things. The whole Lockout fiasco is heartbreaking. Not only does it play with my emotions as a fan, as a person that covers one of the most-watched teams, the Lockout prevents me from getting into the usual pre-season mindset. On top of the on-goings in the league, my personal life has also gotten a bit of a revamping.
I started a new job at News Talk 630 WPRO & 99.7 FM as a Content Producer and my schedule changed from being a Patriots/football blogger 24/7 to having my first “grown up” job as I’d like to call it.
It’s been amazing so far and I know that opportunities are only going to get better.I’m still covering the Patriots for Patriots Insider (trying to at least). Juggling everything is still a skill I’m acquiring.
Oh, and I now have an awesome someone to spend most of my free time with. (Hi Ryan!)
See? Life has been happening so quickly for me and although it’s been hectic, I couldn’t be happier.
So let’s get back to why you all are really here: Football talk.
I’ll admit, I only knew a few of the Draft prospects going into the Draft and I heavily relied on what my Draft fanatic friends to get the real in-depth breakdown for each of the players. This doesn’t mean though that I wasn’t aware of the need that existed within the Patriots (let’s be real here, I was at every home game last season.) It seems as though the needs of the Patriots never really change from the previous year. The same questions come up every year too:
HOW DO THE PATRIOTS DRAFT?!
I can’t predict this. Not really why people think they can. I do understand the fun in trying to play this game which is why I’m a huge fan of reading EVERYONE else’s mock …
