Oh hello..been awhile huh?

There has been a lot of everything going on since I’ve last been on here and let’s just say it has been absolute BANANAS.
I know that this time last year I was knee-deep in Draft and post-Draft everything and it even got to the point where I found myself sitting in Radio City Music Hall for close to 8+ hours watching the Patriots every last pick.

 <–Represent.

This year though,  has been completely different.

What’s been different you may ask? It’s been a number of things. The whole Lockout fiasco is heartbreaking. Not only does it play with my emotions as a fan, as a person that covers one of the most-watched teams, the Lockout prevents me from getting into the usual pre-season mindset. On top of the on-goings in the league, my personal life has also gotten a bit of a revamping.

I started a new job at News Talk 630 WPRO & 99.7 FM as a Content Producer and my schedule changed from being a  Patriots/football blogger 24/7 to having my first “grown up” job as I’d like to call it. :) It’s been amazing so far and I know that opportunities are only going to get better.I’m still covering the Patriots for Patriots Insider (trying to at least). Juggling everything is still a skill I’m acquiring.

Oh, and I now have an awesome someone to spend most of my free time with. (Hi Ryan!) :) See? Life has been happening so quickly for me and although it’s been hectic, I couldn’t be happier.

So let’s get back to why you all are really here: Football talk.

I’ll admit, I only knew a few of the Draft prospects going into the Draft and I heavily relied on what my Draft fanatic friends to get the real in-depth breakdown for each of the players. This doesn’t mean though that I wasn’t aware of the need that existed within the Patriots (let’s be real here, I was at every home game last season.) It seems as though the needs of the Patriots never really change from the previous year. The same questions come up every year too:

HOW DO THE PATRIOTS DRAFT?!

I can’t predict this. Not really why people think they can. I do understand the fun in trying to play this game which is why I’m a huge fan of reading EVERYONE else’s mock

In anticipation for what was supposed to be a disaster of hurricane that is Earl, I planned an entire day filled with writing filming and editing.   We’re just getting all the rain and wind as I type this so hopefully it won’t be too bad.

I’ve spent the majority of the day on the computer and getting so much work done.  Between working on a Patriots and Giants wrap up, to doing my last fantasy draft (Team name is Welker Texas Ranger, awesome I know) I found that today was utterly beneficial.  I also got so much help from the likes of @dantesterling, @patriotsfootbal and @darleeeeeee from twitter! Thanks guys, I really appreciate all the tips and advice that I’m sure will  make my first video blog a great success.

I got the right program, found some wonderful royalty free music to use and have all of my material.  So why is it not posted you may ask? Well, editing is kind of a pain in the butt especially if you havent edited anything since high school.   I’ll have the video all done and edited before the end of this weekend I promise.  It will be worth the wait for sure.  What I have learned so far from filming is that I have way more footage of me messing up than anything else.  This needs to change, especially if this video blogging this is going to be more of a constant for NR.

That’s a quick screen shot of what I’ve been working on today. Nothing too fancy but at least you guys can kinda see the wonder that is my office! More to come!

Super excited. You should be too.…

I’ve had this blog for a little over a year now and it has been one of the coolest things I’ve ever created (well, my awesome Jonathan technically created the site :)   but I do all the updating and all that wonderful stuff.)  I’ve gained some new followers, met some amazing people and have had some pretty hilarious arguments about sports.  When I first created this site, it was all about my ramblings about anything worth talking about in the world of sports.  Nowadays with the world of Twitter (KishaT) and Facebook, people have been sending me their feedback and ideas through the two prominent outlets.  Nothing wrong with this in the least, but I’ve neglected the lovely Necessary Roughness…which is no bueno.

This is no longer the issue!

In time, things often change and hopefully for the better.  This is exactly what’s going to happen for NR with Kisha.  I’m going to put this blog into a massive makeover (with the help of Jonathan of course).  I’ve gotten some feedback from people after they watched my aha video and suggested the idea of possibly doing some video blogging.  Like a beautiful Tom Brady bomb in the endzone to Randy Moss, it all just came together in my head.  It makes perfect sense: I love talking to people about sports, I’m not camera shy and I think it would be a really cool thing for my readers to see.

This week is the first try of Kisha’s venture into the world of vlogging.  First topic that I’ll be covering? The last Patriots preseason game against the New York Giants of course!

If any of you have experience in this, I’d really appreciate some tips/advice/ ways to make it awesome.

Being the perfectionist that I am, I’ve already researched a few of the top rated vlogs and they are pretty impressive. If mine come out half as decent as those, I’ll be greatly satisfied.

Watch out everyone, this is going to be epic.…
