Man, I sure do love game days. After yesterday’s ever-so-lovely snow day, today looks to be a perfect day for football at Gillette Stadium.

Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com tweeted this pic AFTER the snow removal crew at the stadium cleaned it up. Those people do some fantastic work!

So what’s in store for today? Although it was not as crazy media-wise as it was for the game against the Broncos, this week was still filled with off-the-field chatter. For Patriot Nation, Ed Reed’s comments about Joe Flacco was awesome. It was a team’s own defense doing the trash talking for us and all that the Patriots have to do is just keep quiet and keep on keepin’ on.  Like it’s been said, if I was a Ravens’ fan, I’d be pretty irritated. I don’t want a quarterback who will just shrug his shoulders and say, “woe is me” when his own teammates are calling him out. Not that he has to be a jerk about it but a simple, “Well, I’m just focused on playing my best this weekend for my team” answer would’ve been enough to shut that defense up…you know, all BB style.

Ok, that was my Ravens Joe Flacco is whiny rant. If you want to hear their comments, check out the video.

Here’s my prediction for the game:

Patriots 35
Ravens 21

Hope everyone enjoys the game! Be sure to follow me on twitter as I will most likely by tweeting it up during the game. :)

Halfway through the Patriots and Broncos game on Saturday, it quickly changed from a playoff game to a scrimmage between a varsity and JV team. I’ll admit that I was part of the hype going into this game. I had my fears about Tim Tebow and his fourth quarter heroics, the underrated defense and the ability of the team to adapt to make Tim Tebow successful. All of those things combined set the stage for Saturday’s game to be, if nothing else, exciting.

Before we dive into everything Patriots, I have to talk about that INSANE San Francisco and New Orleans game?! That has got to be one of the BEST football games I’ve ever seen. Period.

Between the lead tradeoffs to two quarterbacks playing at an exceptionally high level, I couldn’t have asked for a better game to get me ready for the Patriots and Broncos game. One of the best moments of this game was after veteran tight end Vernon Davis makes the game-winning catch, he couldn’t help but get emotional. How could you blame him? He’s been with the 49ers since 2006 and this was only his first playoff win. Check out this amazing video of Davis after the catch, I promise that you’ll get emotional too.

Man, that was awesome.

Ok back to the Patriots!

Where do I start? We had tight ends playing running back, a quarterback punting and impressive showings at defensive end.

Aaron Hernandez kills it as a running back
Number 81 managed 61 yards on the ground AND caught four catches for 55 yards and a touchdown. This is a perfect example of one my most favorite things about this Patriots team. Regardless of how successful or how good they’ve become, the desire to contribute and play as a team never stops. Hernandez wasn’t just good at it, he looked like he was having a pretty good time doing it. Hernandez spoke about it during the press conference.

I’d say I was surprised, but I was happy to be doing it, and I hope I can do a little more of it. I just do what the coaches ask me, and they put me in position to try to make plays, and I just try to help the team and just try to get the big gain.

Tom Brady can punt like no other
Holy moly. How shocked were you when this …

Sweet mother of all things awesome.  If anyone missed the Tostitos Bowl tonight, you better have been saving baby seals or something because it was an incredible game. Nothing compared to the 2006 BCS Championship game with Vince Young and Matt “let’s get crunk” Leinart, but damn, this was pretty intense.  I want to apologize to my poor roommates who have had to deal with my yelling and screaming for the entirety of the football season.  Gah! I cannot get over that amazing drive with a few seconds left on the clock, sweet Jesus, this is what football is all about. The best part about this game wasn’t the defense or 414 passing yards that McCoy had, it was pure awesomeness that dripped from the game in the 4th quarter. The sadness that fell on the Ohio State fans’ faces was like an entire curtain that draped over the Glendale stadium. I knew it was going to be a good night when my night class let out at 8:30 pm instead of 9:30pm, between class and going to Wal-Mart to do some quick shopping, I still made it back in time to catch the rest of the game.  I was sporting the burnt orange today and people were wondering if I knew I go to Johnson & Wales and NOT UT.  haha, just wait folks, tomorrow I’ll be sporting my Colt McCoy jersey in class, I mean if JWU had a Heisman nominated quarterback, I’d be all up on his jersey. I don’t think I can sleep from all this excitement.  OSU, sorry, but what were you thinking playing a team that was robbed of playing the BCS Championship game? GTFOH (A few of you will know what that means, if not, ask away).

Now for the rest of the news in sports…

The Pats..not in the Playoffs?..No Comprehende.
This is unfamiliar territory for me as a Pats fan.  As a Texans fan, not making the playoffs? psh its like a second home.  Patriots fans, I feel you. I was on a plane from Austin to Harlingen praying that New England do their part and win their game.  For those of you who recieved threatening texts about a certain event that would happen if the Pats didn’t win, I apologize.  I know a violent little asian girl can be quite frightening. But back to Sunday, I was forced to watch …
