Longer Seasons? Yes!..Kisha @ the NFL Draft? Maybe..
In the midst of my college career coming to an end, everything just seems to be piling up. Folks, it’s already going to be April and by the end of May, I will be done with classes. The insanity ensues after. Another great thing that is happening in April? THE NFL DRAFT. Yes. I had all these elaborate plans to go to the draft, but as of now, I really don’t think it’s going to work out. My best friends don’t think they can make it and you can’t go to the NFL Draft alone, especially if you’re a female. I’d probably either, get into a lot of arguments, or make a lot of new friends!
If anyone is serious about going, let me know. I’m still willing to plan a weekend trip to the city to see some other die-hard football fans. Plus, it’ll make it seem like the season isn’t too far away.

This is an event that I want to attend at some point in my life. Here are the others that are on that list:
- A Winter Olympics
- A Summer Olympics (2008 Beijing Olympics. The BEST experience of my life)
- The Running of the Bulls
- NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Game
- Super Bowl (I’d love to go to as many as possible)
- Indy 500 (I know I know, but I heard it was “better in person”)
- The Master’s
…you know what? Pretty much any major sporting event. I want to attend EVERY MAJOR SPORTING EVENT.

I’m officially the new contributor to Patriots Insider. I’m really excited about this and I feel like it’s really testing my ability to write adequately and sufficiently. Plus, it’s kind of cool to see my name on a site that’s dedicated to my favorite team.

LONGER NFL SEASON? Yessssssss
Is it true? Can it be? Is Roger Goodell actually considering extending the season? I have to admit, I think that 17 games would be a good change to the league. 18? I think that may just be too many. I’d love to have another week to yell at people and east massive amounts of delicious snacks, but I think I would be selfish not to think of the players having to play through two extra weeks. Some of the biggest arguments I’ve heard consisted of the fact that a longer season would take away the “edge” of just having 16 games. That it would affect all the records that were made, etc etc. Truth is, they’ve increased the season before and it was for the better. Who wouldn’t want to see another Wes Welker TD catch? or the Giants just possibly lost more games? I’d love for both of those things to happen.
SIDENOTE: This kid in my class today asked me if it hurt when I jumped the bandwagon on becoming a Patriots fan. Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t know that being a Pats fan since 1998 was considered jumping the bandwagon. He went on to tell me that I didn’t know anything about football and that the Patriots are a joke. Ok, first of all this guy was a Giants fan. Sorry Santos, but this is why there are very few (VERY FEW) Giants fans that I like. Note that this guy has no idea who I am or even the fact that I’m in LOVE with football. So I asked him, “Was it always easy to admit that you’re a Giants fan? Or was that just a recent development?” This was a good guy, funny but I think he needs to pump the breaks in assuming a few things:
1. That all people that are Pats fans are bandwagon jumpers, especially when you’re team barely won the Super Bowl 2 seasons ago.
2. That girls don’t know anything about football. It’s not rocket science people. Not that every girl is going to know the difference between a slant route or a hook and ladder, but come on, give us a break.
MARCH MADNESS IS ALMOST OVER
Ok, so I won’t rant anymore about this. All I have to say is that I only have one team left. UConn. That’s it. All my other Final Four picks are eliminated. I give up. If UConn can win this whole thing, then there is a slight hope for my bracket.

I hate fans that can not put their love for their team aside, no matter what sport, and talk about other teams, or their on own with some perspective to other things. I bet he was a Yankees fan too right? TRUE FANS, TRUE fans, can do that.
Oh and PS, where is Syracuse losing in your little poll. DESTROYED me. Also, how about Marquette and Hayward’s baseline in bounding mistake. When I saw that all I could think about was Chris Webber’s 1993 time out with none left incident. That game also kinda hurt my bracket, and is not in your poll =)
I would seriously go the NFL draft just to see the future of the league in person. Plus I wanna see what my team will pick to replace Burress(fucking bendejo). Sorry for swearing but that is how I feel about the guy.
You did a good job on your article. Maybe the Pats site will be your connection to meeting Wes Welker lol (hope you succeed in it).
Here is why I don’t approve of a longer season:
1. There are enough injuries with a 16 game schedule
2. I think players will be worn out at the end of the season especially when some teams make the postseason.
3. Stat records?
As far as being a Giants fan I have been one ever since I started watching and playing football (1997). I don’t think the Pats are a joke. I still wonder what would have happened if Brady was healthy all year last year. I am well over celebrating the Giants Superbowl victory and it still kinda pisses me off that they didn’t repeat since they dominated the regular season but that is why there is always next year.
I respect your knowledge of football. You are probably the biggest female football fan I have met with enough info of the sport to make the NFL experts of ESPN proud.
As far as March Madness is concerned, UCONN will win it all hands down.
Wait, what… the Badwagon?!?! That is the funniest thing I’ve heard all morning while working to catch up on my blog readings. He must have not seen the engagement ring that says you and Football are getting married in the fall… LOL…
As for longer seasons, I’m sure it would somewhat of a good plan. Just my only fear is having something end up confusing me like hockey, where the season lasts long after real ice has already melted. That just doesn’t make sense to me. lol
And just to push some buttons towards the top of the comments. Nothing wrong about being a true fan, just don’t be an ass about it. ~Yankees fan myself~ Can’t speak for Football, cause I always think AC Milan or Manny U. lol. Real Football. Just not much of a fan of the American kind, sorry Kisha.
Jon, the Masters would be sick right? I agree about people and their team obsessions. I mean, I am a die hard patriots fan but that doesn’t mean I’m going to force you to understand then team. I’m always up for intelligent sports discussion.

Santos, thanks for the respect. I mean, I think women who like sports need to get more credit. Bandwagons are fine for people who jump them, but don’t blatantly call people out just because you think it makes you cool. Get out of here dude.
