I’m finally back in Texas for the Christmas break and I’ve already jammed on Guitar Hero: World Tour with my brother and dad for at leas 6 hours in the last 2 days. Somewhere in between that, I manged to watch the spanking the Cowboys got from the Ravens..in HIGH DEFINITION. Seriously folks, this is why I love being home.

SIDE NOTE: Upon looking at some other people’s notes on here, I came across one that looked a little too similar to the past one that I wrote. Listen dude, it’s cool and all that you feel inspired to write about sports, in fact I’m all for it. Just for future reference, try and write about other headlines..and if you are going to write about the EXACT SAME TOPICS, at least take them out of the order that mine are so it isn’t too obvious. K. Thanks :)

How scary is the Baltimore Ravens Defense?!
Thank God a family friend had a 70 inch high definition TV with the NFL Network. For anyone who missed tonight’s game between the Cowboys and Ravens, you missed one of the craziest games this season. I know that this was the last game in Texas Stadium, but damn, the Ravens really gave them a reason to move to another stadium. Tony Romo, I hope you know that if you ever play in a game where, AT ANY POINT, you passer rating is a lower number than your age, its not going to be a good game. For god sakes, at one point his rating was 16.7. What’s that for? Putting your helmet on the right way? That’s like getting an automatic 200 points on the SAT for putting your name on it. I won’t say you completely blew the game, Tony. I mean you did try to keep up with Joe Flacco and his rookie awesomeness, but in the end, a WR who was literally playing with one arm, out-caught and out-ran your unbelievably stacked offense. Ray Lewis, if I have nightmares the next few nights, it will be because of you. He looks like he would eat my soul. So bravo Baltimore, thanks for instilling the fear in me like you did in 2005.

It’s a Saturday night and I’m sitting in Xavier Auditorium listening to Beyonce radio on Pandora and reading up on current events.  There were a few things that happened in sports this week that made me want to flip several tables over. I’m serious. Just ask Erica about it. So begins another post.. and p.s., I’m working on my own sports blog site. Let me know if you’d be interested in reading it…it’s going to be pretty baller :)

Hi, we’re the New York Yankees and we don’t know what overspending on a ridiculous contract means.
OH.MY.GOD. This is by far the most, well one of the most, ridiculous things I’ve heard of. CC Sabathia, your pitches better be so breathtaking that it makes unicorns dance and Josh Groban cry for you to be worth $160 million. They also gave the option of buying out of his contract?!?! Really?! Yankees, how much money do you have to be able to throw it around like this? And if you do have some extra cash, can I borrow some so I can buy a Astros tractor like Roy Oswalt? I understand the facts that if you have the money to spend on a ridiculous salary, than you may feel the urge to do so, but have some respect for the rest of the country. Every other sport is reacting to this crappy economy, but then you have New York waving their non-existent budget around like a girl on Flavor of Love whose time isn’t up. As a professional sports organization, you have the responsibility to society and fans OF THE SPORT (not just the team) to show some concern to the rest of the world. What about the Padres? Give them like a fraction of CC’s contract and at least they’ll be able to water their field. Then you go and have A.J. Burnett signing for 5 years and $82.5 million. This is completely mind-blowing. Can someone please explain this to me and why this is happening?

Wow, so talk about a crazy response to the prior post. It was good to see that people didn’t see me as a freak of nature for being that obsessed with sports. So it’s a whole new week and whole new set of things that have puzzled me to say the least. Here’s round 2:

How freakin’ awesome my fantasy team is doing
Ok, I’m really not one to brag but ARE YOU FOR REAL?!?! I am on a 12 win steak ( would’ve been 13 but I didn’t count the first week) with 1,155 total points so far. To be honest, I really don’t know why. Here’s my depth chart:

QB: Tony Romo, Chad Pennington
WR: Eddie Royal, Steve Smith, Greg Jennings, Kevin Walter (wtf? yeah I know)
RB: Michael Turner, Frank Gore, Marion Barber
TE: Jason Witten, Bo Scaife
K: Mason Crosby, Phil Dawson
DEF: Pittsburgh, Philadelphia

I’m seriously wondering how I’ve made it this far with having 2 weeks of Romo being injured and having a Houston Texan as one of my wide receivers. There are some pretty legitimate competition in my league, but ironically, my little brother is 4-8 and told him that he was ruining the family name. haha. I don’t think it’s luck because on Romo’s 2 week vacation, I picked up Kyle Orton and he decided that he was going to be a legitimate QB and did well. Who knows, maybe I’m actually pretty decent at this thing. If only I can get my NCAA Tournament bracket to look this sexxy, maybe I can get more free burgers and fries at City Burger.

The Hot Mess known as the BCS
Fact: I am a die hard anything-Texas fan. Fact: That being said, I hate OU. Fact: I still think that the BCS has a place in college football. WHAT?!?! Yup, that’s right folks, I still feel like there is a legitimate purpose for the BCS system in college football. I have had this argument with everyone from my siblings, to random people at bars, to older men who I’ve had to sit next to on a plane for a 4 hour flight to Texas. Look people, I’m not going to make any arguments you haven’t heard of before: There are just way too many good teams in way too many conferences to really have a playoff process in place. There have been way too many things in sports lately that has really got me going WTF? more often than usual. So I’ve decided to compile a list to just get it out of my system.

Plaxico Burress Suspended
THANK YOU! Beyond the fact that I am a die-hard Giants hater, this type of behavior is completely unacceptable. Its funny because I remember saying during the Super Bowl, “Hmm, that Burress character, I think he may be the only one I like on the Giants team.” Wrong. This is a perfect example of a time where your performance on the field is completely overshadowed by your stupid behavior off the field. So the Giants coaching staff got 2 things right this season:
Getting rid of Jeremy Shockey and now suspending Plaxico for the rest of the season. I really want someone to just lay out Eli Manning so David Carr can step in and sabotage the team with his awful QB skills.
Here’s another thing that has been I’ve been secretly thinking in my head every time I see Tom Coughlin on television: Can someone please get this guy some moisturizer? His face looks like its going to shrivel up and curl off of his head.

Michael Vick Comeback
To all you people out there calling the Pats cheaters and unethical for filming the Jets games, please stop and realize that there are bigger issues in this world. You want to see unethical? Look to this former Virgina Tech QB. If Michael Vick even has the slightest chance of playing professional football again, I might just have to punch Roger Goodell in the face. Vick is not a good enough QB to overlook everything he’s done to those dogs. In fact, no QB is good enough to overlook that.
