Brett is Favre from gone, ANOTHER NFL player getting arrested and that thing with A-Rod
I know, I’ve slacked off. The last time I posted was when the University of Texas was still ranked in NCAA basketball, yeah I know, it sucks for me too. I’ve been busy with writing for the school paper, work and oh yeah, sleeping. Is it just me or does it seem like everyone has a comment about the whole Michael Phelps thing, my personal favorite is Seth Myers’ from SNL Really?! Kellogs. This made me giggle a lot, too bad it was at 4 in the morning and all my roomates were asleep.
Brett, it’s good to quit when you’re on top..Ma$e did.
I know a lot of people want to know what I think of Brett Favre retiring again. As much I’d like to believe that very touching interview he gave with Ed Werder about being able to “honestly say that he will never play football again.” I just feel like the main reason why he’s retiring isn’t because he’s over football, this guy doesn’t know what else he has left to play for. He’s not playing for the team that he built his career on, he’s 39 years old and Kurt Warner, who’s only two years younger than him was able to be moved around more than the Rams, go to the Super Bowl with the EXACT same record as the Jets…and almost win, ALMOST.
I’m nowhere near a Favre hater, I think he’s a great QB.
464 touchdowns passes
5,720 completions
65, 127 passing yards
169 regular-season wins
Those numbers are exceptional enough to make him one of the best quarterbacks of all time. I just really have no sympathy for athletes that play with dedicated fans’ emotions. My sister Kara is a die-hard Packers fan. The day he decided to retire the first time, she called me so devastated that I thought it was because she found out that they were canceling The Secret Life of an American Teenager . When she heard he was retiring again, she was almost indifferent to it. That sucks. If Wes Welker said that he would never step into another endzone again to catch the immaculate thing we call a touchdown, I’d be pretty devastated, but if he did 2 times in a span of 2 season, I’d probably punch him in the face.
If Brett Favre decides that he wants to try another run at the NFL because riding his bulldozer gets too boring, I would completely understand. I wonder if he’ll go to another team with green as one of their colors, hmm. the Eagles? The Dolphins? That’s more like teal. The Seahawks? That’s more of a like depressing, why doesn’t anyone remember when we won the Super Bowl teal.
SIDENOTE: “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey just came on my iTunes and I really wanted to put on a denim jacket and drive away in a 1981 Dodge Charger.
BAN FIGHTS IN HOCKEY?!? THAT’S LIKE BANNING ASS-SLAPPING IN ALL SPORTS
In one of my favorit
e websites, SportingNews.com, I found this article lingering about a panel wanting to ban hockey fights on all levels. Ok, did anyone even know there was such as thing as the London Hockey Concussion Summit? Derek, wtf is this? This article was from London, ONT too by the way. Is this all you guys do up there? Attend summits about major sports injuries? haha. So the article goes on to explain that fights in professional sports is one of the known causes of concussions. I agree with the fact that sports can be dangerous, in fact, they can be flat out deadly (Except for golf, unless John Daly is smashing your camera up against a tree). But to even fathom the idea of banning fights in general would be ridiculous. I suggest maybe taking baby steps like more severe punishments or sitting in a penalty box for an ENTIRE game. I mean if we can suspend Sean Avery for being the textbook example of a Jerk, I think we can do something about UFC-esque beat downs. I’ll admit though, when the Providence Bruins get into fights, I kinda get all pretty into it and I think I frighten the people around me.
Oh, Marshawn Lynch is from Oakland? The Gun Charges make sense now
That’s such a awful stereotype: People from Oakland are scary/frightening/ghetto. Oakland seems like it would be like Detroit except with angrier fans. I don’t think that the NFL Commissioner has had to create special rules just for another team besides for Raider Nation. Marshawn Lynch! Why? This isn’t even the first time you’ve gotten into trouble, a hit and run with your fancy SUV and now a felony gun charge. Why do all these players have this idea that everyone is against them. Marvin Harrison, Plaxico Burress, Willie Andrews are just a few of the players who have gotten into trouble for having an illegal or concealed weapon. I know life is difficult in Oakland but seriously? You were just in the Pro Bowl and ran for 1,038 yards this past season, why do you think you need to carry a gun around like you’re in Duke Nukem? Chillax and if you do feel the need to carry a weapon and then do it legally, I think it’s cheaper to get a gun license than it is to get yourself out of prison with a $35,000 bail.
I wish I came up with A-Fraud
I really wish I was clever enough to come up with neat things like that. Anyway, why are people surprised by this? All my Yankee loving friends stand very firmly on grounds that the report was never supposed to be released and that its not fair, blah blah. That all sounds quite familiar. In fact, it sounded like every time their team loses, it’s not fair..blah blah. Here’s my view on the issue. I give A-Rod props for manning ( not Eli or Peyton) up and admitting to abusing substances. I think that at some point, something needs to be changed within th league when all these cases of substance abuse just keep coming up, oh and here’s what Daniel Tosh says about steroid use which is just as funny as his Michael Vick bit. Here’s where my problem with this whole thing, the substances that A-Rod took, Primobolan is a substance has been called the ultimate steroid. Primo, when mixed with certain other steroids such as testosterone, is one of the most efective stacks a person can take. It works perfectly with a low-calorie diet (maybe this is why A-Rod doesn’t like junk food?). These things take time to build in a person’s system, so this means that A-Rod had to take Primo at a consistent cycle to really get the full benefit. I’m tired of players acting completely oblivious to the substances they take, I have more respect for people that admit to their mistakes than to those who pull a Clemens and deny everything. Although I didn’t catch the press conference, I did manage to doodle on some of him screen shots from MLB.com.
Oh, and p.s. it is not cool to blame stuff on your “cousin”.
Here’s my rundown on the things.
Oh yeah, how was everyone’s Valentine’s Day? Expensive? Lonely? Awesome? Let me know if something awesome happened.

First to comment!?
But yeah all I have say on is Hockey and the A-Rod stuff.
Fights are hockey, that is just plain and simple. There have been so few out there anymore that it doesn’t need to be banned. If it happens it happens, and there should be some ultimate penalty for the game not like your whole career. Cause honestly I’m not gonna sit in a cold arena to not watch tensions run high between Kiser and the opposing players. [Kiser is our goon from SC StingRays]
Also mad props to manning up, I have great respect for that. However it is a substance that isn’t allowed currently. In which case makes me sad [Yankee Fan by Blood]. In my head I keep saying, at least it wasn’t any of the players I care for. Lol. Hopefully we can let these things air openly and more Players who personify manliness can man up and show us that they are. Hiding like little cowards, it sickens me.
Oh yeah, love the photo work… That is all.
I totally agree with Anthony that hockey fights should not be banned. I mean who else is going to put Paul Crosty and Kevin Westgarth in line when they start acting out? And is that pic of Mac beating down Crosty from last year?
And A-Rod is a joke. Come on dude really no one cares that your sorry. You still cheated and thats not fair but thanks for admitting it.
Marshawn Lynch, um why were you sitting in a car parked in like Pasadena with a loaded gun and 3 of your friends? What were you guys going to do go knock over the Rose Bowl? That is all.
Anthony, my amazing photo work is rather sub par haha.
I think that baseball is one of the few sports in which players still feel the need to show that bigger is better. Darren Sproles has proven his talent in the NFL as a 5’8 running back and Nate Robinson just outdunked someone over a foot taller than him..baseball needs to get over the whole bigger is better thing.
Steoh: Yes, I went into my PBruins archives to find that awesome pic. haha
Marshawn Lynch, were you playing Romeo like my brother did in which I had to drive to Mercedes, TX to pick him up at the parking lot?
What were they doing?
Maybe they were telling secrets.
Hey, bigger is better in baseball when it comes to the Big Puma cranking those pitches out of Minute Maid park backed by all those hot dogs and other junk food Babe Ruth style haha. I even love how he keeps the seeds in his back pocket and reaches for them while he’s playing 1st haha…
But anyway, as far as A-Rod is concerned, I appreciate him coming clean and saying this knowing that his Hall of Fame legacy is on the line. It certainly does not whipe the slate clean by no means, but in the end, what he did is better than the crap that Clemens is pulling right now. Coming clean the way Pettite did is going to get him his forgiveness, but A-Rod’s credentials are much higher than Andy’s, and that’s going to be seen when it comes time to vote him into the Hall of Fame, of which he may have just sacrificed.
As far as the game is concerned, this is another big step in cleaning up a very messy situation having the league’s biggest star owning up to his mistakes. I just hope that with the revealing of more and more of these steroids sluggers that my favorite Astros 1B slugger didn’t take part in this very sticky steroid crap.
on your side note, i learned the intro on the piano, also i learned the scientist by coldplay, yeah, tell your friends, and i’ve decided im not gonna f with emailing, when you get here ill show you the dam article. : D
ps. someone random has my article now and there is a big chance that im being plagerized right now. an im almost livid.
oh and your brett favre article where you mention the seahawks… clearly thats a “why doesn’t anyone remember when we won the super bowl” teal because if we look back to the most boring super bowl ever we see that… Steelers won that one… and dont go edit your article, you sly boots… o and i like how you dont post Favre’s interceptions stats…
Oh Niko,
If you weren’t my little brother and pretty friggin hilarious, I’d kick you in the face. I was trying to be nice to Brett Favre jerk.
The next time you want to send me an article, can you please make sure that it i quasi spell checked? I haven’t seen so many red squiggles on my screen since I copy and pasted “Knuck if You Buck” on a word document.
Oh yeah, you suck.
As a Yankee fan I am very dissapointed in Arod. WTF. He admits this 6 years later. The MLB needs to drug test everybody PERIOD. I bet there are way more all star players who take illegal substances. This sport is driving me nuts with all these so called great players taking performance enhancing drugs which by the way destroy the body overtime.
As far as Brett Favre I think he is done for good. I knew the Jets made a stupid move and it showed near the end. He has nothing else to prove. Besides the only record that will probably hold up is the consecutive games played unless Peyton Manning says different. His other records will be broken by either manning or brady if he ever fully recovers from his knee injury.
Are you serious about hockey banning fights? seriously thats the only reason why I watch hockey. I even went to some Bruins games and the fights are very entertaining. PLEASE don’t let it be true.
